1–2 tsp ceremonial matcha
50–80 ml hot water (around 70°C)
200–250 ml milk of choice (dairy, almond, oat, soy)
1–2 tsp vanilla syrup or vanilla extract
Sweetener (optional — honey, maple syrup, or sugar)
Ice (if making it iced)
Sift 1–2 teaspoons of matcha into a bowl or cup.
Add hot water (not boiling — 70°C is ideal).
Whisk using a bamboo whisk or handheld frother until it becomes smooth and frothy.
Mix in the vanilla syrup or a few drops of vanilla extract.
If you like your latte sweeter, add a touch of honey or maple syrup.
For iced vanilla matcha latte:
Fill a glass with ice
Pour in your milk
Slowly pour the matcha mixture on top to create layered colour
For a hot vanilla matcha latte:
Warm your milk
Froth lightly if you prefer
Pour over your whisked matcha
Give it a gentle stir and enjoy a smooth, creamy vanilla matcha latte made fresh at home.
